Adriana Mezic M.A.
CEO and Co-Founder
Adriana is co-Founder of AIMdyn, Inc. and has served as CEO since 2003. With degrees in nursing and health education, she worked in the medical field for more than 10 years and was the director of the medical assistant teaching program at Santa Barbara Business College. Adriana's areas of research include applications of agent-based modeling in social sciences, such as the influence of agent-environment interactions on drinking behavior and urban insurgencies. She has publications in the prenatal diabetes research area as well as smoking prevention/policies and addiction. Adriana is an avid volunteer in the nonprofit sector. She is currently the board president of the Jodi House Brain Support Center. Adriana also served on the board of directors of Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation and is a current Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation Ambassador. When she has free time, Adriana loves reading, traveling and cooking.
Dr. Igor Mezic
Founder and Chief Technical Advisor
Professor Mezic works in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), dynamical systems, control theory and applications to security, energy efficient design and operations in complex systems. He did his Ph. D. in Dynamical Systems at the California Institute of Technology. For his work on analysis and control of complex systems, he was named Fellow of the American Physical Society, Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics and Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is the recipient of the 2021 Crawford Prize, awarded once in two years to a researcher in Dynamical Systems Theory. Dr. Mezic is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Mathematics and the Director of the Center for Energy Efficient Design at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is the co-Founder and CTO at AIMdyn, Inc. and Chief Scientist and CTO at Mixmode.ai
Dr. Maria Fonoberova
Director of Operations
Maria received her B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Moldova State University in 2005 and her Ph.D. in Mathematics and Physics from Academy of Sciences of Moldova in 2008. Maria joined AIMdyn in 2008 and is currently the Director of Research. Dr. Maria Fonoberova has over 15 years of experience in big data analytics and spectral analysis of dynamical systems, and has served as PI and co-PI on many successful R&D programs for government customers. Her research interests include dynamical systems, Koopman Operator techniques, AI, and agent-based models.
Terry Phillip Ingram
Chief Financial Officer
Terry is a hands on seasoned Business Operations professional with 45 years’ experience in the finance / contracts / cost management arena in a wide variety of work environments with Fortune 50 and start-up companies. Thirty-five plus years’ experience working with the Defense Contract Audit Agency on all aspects of finance, contracts, and accounting issues.  Prototypical and production manufacturing experience in an ERP environment.
Thomas Larmore
Business Office Admin
Thomas is an accounting and finance professional with over 10 years' experience working with boutique, regional, and multinational firms across several industries including manufacturing, retail, and commercial real estate. He graduated from the University of Utah and currently lives in western Washington. He is also an avid reader, board game enthusiast, and recent baseball convert.
John Echeveste
CISO
John graduated from UC Santa Barbara, and has been working in IT for over 20 years. He specializes in Identity Management and Security. In his free time John enjoys cycling, running, and travel.
Dr. Allan M. Avila
Principal Research Scientist
Allan received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California Riverside in 2015, his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2017 and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2020. Allan joined AIMdyn in 2019 and is currently a senior researcher. Allan's general research is the data-driven analysis and forecasting of dynamical systems via spectral operator methods.
Alexander Krolicki
Research Scientist
Alex received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University in 2022. Alex is currently working on developing new operator theoretic control algorithms and its applications. Alex has experience working in power generation during his time as a research and development engineer at Rolls Royce Power Systems, and spent a summer working at Astra to develop optimization based design techniques for rocket launch vehicles. In his free time, Alex enjoys playing roller hockey and exploring hiking trails.
Joseph Vidal
Research Engineer
Joseph has a bachelor's in physics from RPI and a master's in applied physics from Yale. His research interests are quantum mechanics and AI. His hobbies are music, drawing, and soccer.
Dr. Lucas Domulevicz
Research Engineer
Luke graduated from Wilkes University with B.S. in Electrical Engineering and B.A. in Physics before completing his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Davis. His research interests include nanoelectronics and photonics, quantum chemistry, and machine learning. In his free time, Luke enjoys long distance running and playing the guitar.
Dr. Alessandro Monteros
Research Engineer
Alessandro received his B.S. in Physics from Pepperdine, M.S. in Physics from Cal State Fullerton with a focus on quantum transport, and PhD in Physics from UC Merced with a focus on analog quantum computing. He has a unquenchable curiosity, enjoys learning and improving in his craft, and is always up to tackle a challenging problem. In his free time Alessandro cooks, watches UFC breakdowns, reads, and spends time with family. One day he hopes to have a small spectroscopy lab in his garage.
Marcus Koseck
Research Engineer
Marcus Koseck graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics and DePaul University with an M.S. in Data Science with a concentration in computational machine learning. His research interests primarily surround physics informed machine learning, probabilistic inference, and decision making. In his free time, he loves to read, build reinforcement learning algorithms for his YouTube channel, and cook.
Dr. Mark Ronnenberg
Research Engineer
Mark received a Ph.D. in mathematics from Indiana University in 2023. His research interests include low dimensional topology, gauge theory, and applied topology. His hobbies include music, retro video games, and reading.
Dr. Isaac Shelby
Research Engineer
Isaac received his B.S. in physics from Carnegie Mellon University before completing his M.S. and PhD in physics from the University of Washington. His research involved wet-lab work, though the primary focus was simulation and data analysis for a new biological assay being developed. In his free time he enjoys running, trivia, and travel.
Dr. William Redman
Researcher
Will is currently Senior Research Scientist at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, in the Intelligent Systems Center, broadly working on neuroscience inspired AI, computational neuroscience, machine learning for multi-agent systems, dynamical systems theory, and robotics. He continues to collaborate closely with AIMdyn on projects involving Koopman operator theory and machine learning.
Alan Cao
Researcher
Alan is currently a PhD student in the Active Adaptive Control Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2022. Alan joined AIMdyn in the spring of 2021 and works on developing numerical methods for predicting and controlling nonlinear dynamical systems. In his free time, Alan enjoys drawing and playing soccer.
Mariana Mezic
Junior Researcher
Mariana Mezic was awarded her BS in Ecology, Evolution and Marine Biology from University of California, Santa Barbara and has been working with Aimdyn on several projects including website development, product testing and marketing. She is currently in a junior researcher position and is focused on developing better prediction analysis for projects in the works. She has skills pertaining to coding and maths but also loves to inject her projects with creative approaches and strategic problem solving. In her free time she loves to make music, paint miniature models and dioramas, and play with her french bulldog Gustav.
Noah Silverberg
Research Intern
Noah is an undergraduate at Yale University, where he is pursuing a B.S. in physics and mathematics. He enjoys spending time with friends, playing pickleball, and attempting to decipher ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.
Ari Rabinowitz
Research Intern
Ari is an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration. He enjoys playing golf, weight lifting, and following baseball analytics.
Wesley Gardner
Research Intern
Wes is a graduate student at the University of California, Santa Barbara studying Dynamics, Robotics, and Controls. In his free time he likes to listen to and play music, and is prone to giving long and breathless responses to any questions about David Bowie asked in his vicinity.
Cole Giusto
Research Intern
Cole is a graduate student at the University of California, Santa Barbara studying Dynamics and Controls. His hobbies include programming, making espresso, and playing pickup basketball.
Dean Huang
Researcher
Dean graduated from New York University with a B.A. in physics and is currently pursuing a PhD in physics at the University of Washington in Seattle. Primary research interests include developing analytical tools and models for biophysical systems, applying statistical theory, and merging dynamical systems theory with machine learning systems and artificial intelligence. Hobbies include solving puzzles of all kinds, reading widely, and walking through nature with a pocket microscope in hand.
Jordan Garrett
Researcher
Jordan is currently a PhD student in Psychological & Brain Sciences at UCSB. In his research, he applies machine and deep learning methods to model how fluctuations in global state influence cognitive processes and their underlying neural activity. In his free time he loves to go hiking and train AI agents to play video games.
